Escape to Paradise: Elldus Resort Germany Awaits!
Escape to Paradise: Elldus Resort Germany Awaits! - A Messy, Honest, and Totally Human Review
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because you're about to get the real deal on Elldus Resort in Germany. Forget the glossy travel brochures; I’m here to spill the tea – the good, the maybe-not-so-good, and the utterly-worth-it. This isn’t just a review; it’s a journey. Get ready to laugh, maybe cringe a little, and definitely start booking your escape.
Let's just be real for a second - I needed this getaway. Work was a dumpster fire, my cat had decided my face was a scratching post, and my last holiday involved a near-death experience with a rogue sausage roll. Elldus, with its promise of "Escape to Paradise," seemed like exactly what the doctor (who was probably going to be needed soon anyway) ordered.
First Impressions - The Arrival & Accessibility… (Deep Breath)
Okay, the drive there was… scenic. Think rolling hills, charming villages, and the distinct scent of… well, I think it was a cow. Definitely not a problem! The resort itself? Pretty darn impressive. The exterior? Classic German charm – think gingerbread house meets modern chalet. Spot on.
Accessibility? Now we get to the important stuff. I always worry. I checked, and it looks like they've made a solid effort for accessibility (big plus!), with all the essentials covered: Facilities for disabled guests, Elevator, and even a car park [free of charge] – which, let's be honest, is already a win. I didn’t personally need to put it to the complete test, but just seeing it makes a huge difference to peace of mind. Check.
Rooms: Cozy Comfort (Mostly)
My room? Pretty swanky. Air conditioning (thank God!), Free Wi-Fi, Laptop workspace (though I mostly used it to binge-watch bad reality TV), a Seating area, a Refrigerator - even a mini-bar. I mean, what more could a girl want? And the bathrobes? Fluffy heaven! The bed was super comfortable, and the blackout curtains meant I could sleep off the world.
The soundproofing was also pretty good. So, even though I was on the ground floor, I never heard any of that stuff. A HUGE win!
Now, for a little… imperfection: The bathroom was nice, but I was a little perplexed by the bathroom phone. Who ARE you supposed to call in the bathroom?! "Hello, operator? I seem to have dropped my… well, never mind."
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking - Let's Get Fed!
Alright, food. A priority. Breakfast [buffet]? Absolutely. And honestly, it was amazing. Think a mountain of pastries, cheeses, and fresh fruit. There was an Asian breakfast selection too, for those feeling adventurous. I stuck to the bread and cheese. You get what you know. Plus, of course, the Western breakfast was just as delicious, and they also offered a Breakfast takeaway service… for when you just can't wait.
Restaurants? Yep! There were several. A buffet in restaurant, a restaurants with A la carte in restaurant options, but more importantly, there was a Snack bar for when you just needed a quick fix.
I even tried the Asian cuisine in restaurant… and loved it!
Oh, and the Poolside bar? Essential. Especially during Happy hour. Margaritas in the sun? Yes, please. My only regret? Not having more time!
Ways to Relax - Spa, Sauna, and Pure Bliss (and a Bit of a Freak Out)
This is where Elldus REALLY shines. The Spa area? Forget reality. It's a complete escape!
- Swimming pool [outdoor]? Gorgeous! And the Pool with view? Incredible! Nothing better than taking a swim with a view.
- Sauna? Yes, and good ones.
- The Spa/sauna and Steamroom? Oh my god. I'm not even an expert in things like this, but I was in heaven
- Massage? Had the best massage of my life, with a very strong masseuse who made me feel like I’d shed a whole layer of the crap from the last few months. Amazing.
- Body scrub and Body wrap? Didn't try, but the masseuse swore it worked wonders.
- Gym/fitness? I walked past it once. Let's leave it at that.
My absolute, hands-down, BEST experience? The Steamroom. It was so lovely and warm and relaxing… Until I started to get a little too relaxed. Suddenly, claustrophobia hit like a brick. I panicked a little, convinced myself I was going to get stuck. But then I took a big breath, remembered I was a grown-up, and calmly walked out. Pure catharsis. So, yeah, a bit of a minor meltdown, but hey, we're all human, right? And even a brief freakout can't spoil the overall awesomeness.
Cleanliness and Safety - Because the World is Weird Right Now.
Look, I'm a little bit of a germaphobe. And I was beyond relieved to see that Elldus takes this seriously. They’ve got Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Rooms sanitized between stays, and Hand sanitizer everywhere. And even though Room sanitization opt-out available, I just kept enjoying the peace of mind. Staff trained in safety protocol. I'd already noticed all this, which put my worries to rest. Check, check and check.
Services and Conveniences - The Little Extras That Matter
The Concierge was incredibly helpful, the Laundry service and Dry cleaning were lifesavers (that sausage roll incident…), and the Daily housekeeping kept my room looking (relatively) tidy. They also had Currency exchange and Cash withdrawal.
Things to do - Beyond Bliss
Beyond the spa, Elldus offers some serious entertainment. I also saw Outdoor venue for special events, Indoor venue for special events, and Audio-visual equipment for special events. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend due to time restrictions!
For the Kids (Although I Didn't Test This):
They seemed to have this also covered! Babysitting service, Family/child friendly, and Kids facilities.
Getting Around: The Journey
The Car park [free of charge] was a godsend, and they also offer Airport transfer and Taxi service.
The Imperfections (Because, Real Life, and Why I Didn't Give It 5 Stars)
Look, nothing’s perfect. My minor quibbles?
- The Coffee shop coffee could have been stronger.
- The internet, while available, was a little patchy in the further reaches of the resort.
My Verdict: Escape to Paradise is SO Worth It!
Despite the occasional minor blip, Elldus is a winner. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, recharge, and escape the everyday. From the incredible spa to the delicious food and the comfortable rooms, Elldus has created an oasis of calm.

Escape to Paradise: Eagle Mountain Resort, Munnar's Unveiled LuxuryAlright, buckle up buttercups, because this isn't your average, pristine travel itinerary. This is more like a messy, hilarious, potentially disastrous (but hopefully not) love letter to Elldus Resort in Germany. Get ready, because things are about to get… real.
Trip Title: Elldus Resort: Where my Chill Goes to Die (and Reborn?)
(Spoiler alert: I'm not a "planner" in any conventional sense. This is more of a rough guideline, a suggestion box, a desperate hope for a good time.)
Day 1: Arrival - The Jet Lag Tango and the German Bread Conspiracy
- Morning (ish): Ugh. Flight. Let's just say the six-hour flight felt closer to twelve, crammed next to a toddler who identified as a professional screamer. My "ideal" morning took a nose-dive somewhere over the Atlantic. Arrival at Munich Airport (MUC). Immigration. The usual. And the first existential crisis of the trip: Why did I pack so many bloody socks?
- Afternoon: Finally, on the train to Oberstdorf! The scenery? GORGEOUS. Like, postcard-worthy. I'm already, in my exhaustion, falling in love with Germany. (Don't tell the screams). The train? Clean. Efficient. German. I'd heard tales, and they are true.
- Late Afternoon / Early Evening: Checked into Elldus Resort. The room? Kinda fancy (for me). Balcony with a view of the Alps. Breathing it in… then realizing how truly exhausted I am. Instant nap. Nap turned into a coma. Wake-up starving. The bread. The German bread. I swear it whispers to you from the bakery. Had a massive pretzel. It was… perfect. Obsession immediately activated.
- Evening: Tried to be adventurous. Went wandering through the resort. Got hopelessly lost. Panicked slightly when I couldn’t find the restaurant. Found the pool instead. Decided to reward myself after finally getting out of the resort. Ended up in the sauna. My internal monologue rapidly oscillated between “This is blissful!” and "I'm definitely going to sweat all my dignity out of me." Dinner: trying to decipher the menu, which is, of course, in both German and (bad) English. Accidentally ordered something I think was a deer bladder filled with… something. Actually? Delicious. Mind blown.
Day 2: The Mountain Hike That Almost Killed Me (But Didn't!)
- Morning: Awoke with a profound sense of optimism. Got up early and ate another two pretzels to kick myself into gear. Breakfast was a buffet of Germanic glory. German meats, cheeses, pastries, the works!
- Mid-Morning: "Easy hike". They said. "Spectacular views". They said. Turns out "easy" is relative. The views were indeed spectacular, but the incline was a personal Everest for this city-dwelling sloth. Found myself wanting to stop a billion times. Kept pushing. The air thinned. My lungs burned. Felt truly alive. Found a pretty small, unassuming mountain, and for some reason, decided to hike to the top.
- Lunch: Found a mountain hut! Ordered soup. Ate soup. More delicious soup. Met some other hikers. They were all fitter. They probably didn't look like they were about to die.
- Afternoon (Post-Hike): Reward yourself with a cold beer, and the entire mountain of the view. Back at the resort, my legs are screaming. Sat in the jacuzzi. The bubbles were a godsend. Contemplated the meaning of life while trying to not get strangled by the jets.
- Evening: Dinner at a different restaurant within the resort. Attempting to speak German. Probably butchered the language. The waiter laughed. I laughed. We’re friends for life now. Spent the rest of the evening watching some inane German TV trying to find some of my favorite movies.
Day 3: Spa Day – Acceptance of Utter Relaxation
- Morning: No hiking! Thank you, glorious heavens. Embraced the concept of "doing nothing." Breakfast, more pretzels, and a lot of coffee.
- Mid-Morning: Spa time! My inner critic tried to sabotage me with thoughts, but I actively fought them. Massages, saunas, pools, more "doing nothing". Pure, unadulterated bliss. Also, a moment of profound self-awareness involving the use of a cucumber eye mask.
- Afternoon: Found the outdoor pool. Swam. Read a book. Got a bit sunburned. Considered this a minor victory.
- Evening: Dinner. More attempts at German. More laughter. This time, I think I ordered a dish involving some form of Schnitzel and some type of weird sauce. It was the best dish of the trip! After dinner, I went on a walk around the resort. I took a picture of the sunset over the alps. It was truly breath-taking scenery.
- Late Evening: Woke up in the middle of the night. Couldn’t sleep. Realized I had genuinely relaxed.
Day 4: The Unexpected Adventure and Farewell Pretzels
- Morning: Decided to try something I had never done before: Paragliding. As I was walking to the area prepared for the paragliding, I kept thinking if I was going to die today. Turns out, it was an amazing experience. I had a chance to see the world from above, and the view was amazing.
- Afternoon: Farewell feast. Pretzel-fueled goodbye to Oberstdorf. Bought a ridiculous amount of pretzels to take home. The weight of the bag? Worth it.
- Evening: Train to Munich. Last glimpse of the Alps. Tears started to form when I realized how much time I had spent in this place.
- Late Evening: Flight home. Already planning my return to Elldus Resort. Looking back, I'd say this trip was more than perfect!
Emotional Aftermath:
- Pretzels: My new religion.
- German: Working on it.
- Mountains: Respect, appreciation, and a healthy dose of fear.
- Relaxation: Achieved! (Mostly).
- Elldus Resort: See you soon, you beautiful, pretzel-filled haven!
(This itinerary is subject to change, and possibly complete utter chaos. Proceed with caution. And bring extra socks. You never know.)
